YACHT broker Asia Yachting plans to build a marine service center in the Philippines to replicate its success in Hong Kong, as it aims to further expand its dealership and brokerage business in the country.
Oliver Besson, the company’s chief executive, said his group aims to build up its name in the Philippines after successfully signing five exclusive dealership contracts with Monte Carlo Yachts, Prestige, Fountaine Pajot, Nautique and Scarab.
He said demand for yachts in the Philippines is generally high, albeit it is a niche market.
“With its more than 7,100 islands, beautiful waters, and warm weather, the Philippines is a haven for watersports as well as an exciting destination for sailing and yachting—comparable to other prime locations in the region and around the world,” Besson said.
The official said his company “aims to replicate its successful Hong Kong business model in the Philippines by setting up an advanced marine service center staffed by experienced maritime technicians and specialists whose focus is on preventative maintenance to ensure yachts’ excellent condition and functionality.”
The company has an extensive and diverse brand portfolio, from multifunctional boats and luxury mega-yachts, to specialized wakesurfing boats and jetboats, plus secondhand boats.
“Filipinos are naturally drawn to the water regardless of age or socioeconomic status, and we look forward to offering our brands to this new and promising market,” Besson said.
