“She opens her arms to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy”—Proverbs 31:20
AS we pray for those who are suffering through the heart relic of Saint Padre Pio, we should also help and act for those who are suffering, as we are the Lamb of God who praise and glorify the Almighty Father.
Recognizing the value of humility and heart of charity, Caritas Manila second Celebrity Bazaar new event ambassador, Ms. Heart Evangelista, professes her faith to God by means of charity, as she believes that “the LORD our God will bless us in all our work and in everything to which we put our hand” (Deuteronomy 15:10).
With the grace and guidance of our Lord Jesus Christ, we successfully launched our second Celebrity Bazaar on October 18, from 1 to 10 p.m., at the second level of the Mega Atrium of SM Megamall.
The bazaar featured pre-loved luxury items up for sale from generous celebrity donors, which include Heart Evangelista, Alden Richards, Ruffa Gutierrez, Dr. Vicki Bello, Scarlet Snow Bello, Cristalle Bello, Bang Pineda, Teacher Georcelle, Toni Gonzaga, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Vice Ganda, Iza Calzado, Divine Lee, Jinkee Pacquiao, Manny Pacquiao, and premier designers Michael Cinco and Cary Santiago.
Proceeds from this year’s bazaar will benefit the Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program (YSLEP) of Caritas Manila. The program sends and supports less- fortunate but deserving students nationwide to their college or university of choice.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, we at Caritas Manila are extending our sincere gratitude for your generosity and enthusiasm to help YSLEP scholars. Your assistance will go a long way in providing education and support that can help realize the potentials of our future leaders who come from the ranks of the poor.
Let us always remember that “each of us should give what we have decided in our heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7).
May the heart relic of Saint Padre Pio and the heart of charity of these celebrities inspire us to give more for our brothers and sisters who are suffering and in need. And may the Almighty God bless our heart of charity.
To date, more than 10,000 YSLEP scholars have graduated from college and vocational schools nationwide, especially from the poorest provinces.
Caritas Manila is one of the biggest nonprofit organizations in the country led by its chairman, Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle.
