ISUZU Philippines Corp. (IPC) should be given an award for coming up with the most creative ways to showcase their product lineup. While most manufacturers will just be contented in displaying their products in an event or offer a test drive for interested buyers, in mostly flat conditions, Isuzu has pushed the envelope in this area that not only showcased the capability of their vehicles but provide a thrilling experience for participants, as well.
In the recently concluded “Isuzu Xtreme Xperience,” held recently beside the Festive Walk Mall at the Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, Ilonggos and Ilonggas alike were able to experience firsthand the capability of Isuzu’s best-selling 4×4 pickup D-Max through the vaunted Xtreme Xperience action ramp, a customized two-story high ramp that took brave passengers on a roller-coaster-like ride up and down the narrow metal ramp.
The adrenaline-inducing ride was provided by the 3.0-liter, four-cylinder Turbo Intercooler 4JJ1-TCX Blue Power Diesel Engine D-Max 4×4 LS variant that pumps out a healthy 177 hp and, more important, 380 N-m of torque that aptly demonstrated the pickup’s capabilities and made short work of the 4×4 ramp especially designed for the event.
But aside from the demonstrating the climbing power of the 3.0-liter LS 4×4 variant of the D-Max, attendees and interested buyers were also able to experience Isuzu’s flagship entry in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment the mu-X. D-Max and mu-X are available in both 3.0-liter Blue-Power and the smaller and more fuel-efficient RZ4E engine. Through a test drive around the area, which was a perfect venue as the wide and more important traffic-free roads, Isuzu gave the participants the opportunity to test the SUV’s fine handling, road behavior and creature comforts that it offers. IPC also made sure that there’s something for everyone for the three-day event, such as a bicycle track for kids, a photobooth and other fun-filled and exciting activities during the duration of the event.
Isuzu enthusiasts, on the other hand, went to check the latest original accessories at the Isuzu booth and Isuzu-accredited accessory provider Overland that also displayed their off-road version of the 4×4 D-Max complete with their accessories like good-looking rims and bumpers to name a few. Buyers also got exclusive promos and discounts on site.
Completing the experience with a concert by the brand’s ambassadress Maja Salvador, who performed in front of a huge crowd later on the evening at the first day of the event and rapper Gloc-9 capping the activity with his performance on the last day of the three-day event.
The Iloilo leg of the Isuzu 4×4 Xtreme Xperience was made possible through the cooperation of Isuzu Iloilo, Pilipinas Shell and Globe Telecoms.
