MADILIM ang Gabi (Dark is the Night) is filmmaker Adolfo Alix’s 30th full feature film and he’s grateful for all the lessons he has learned and the friendships he has made in just 12 years of being a filmmaker. We met Alix when he was writing screenplays for other directors, and we got to know him more when he mustered enough guts to shoot his debut feature film Donsol in 2006, the breakthrough movie of Sid Lucero who’s now an international award-winning actor.
Angel Aquino, Bembol Roco, Sid Lucero, Phillip Salvador, Felix Roco, Anita Linda, Cherie Gil, William Lorenzo, Angeli Bayani, Rosanna Roces, Jason Abalos, Elizabeth Oropesa, Flora Gasser, Perla Bautista, Laurice Guillen, Alan Paule, Cherry Pie Picache, Alessandra de Rossi, Kristoffer King, Iza Calzado, Jess Mendoza, Zanjoe Marudo, Divine Tetay, Angelina Kanapi, Erlinda Villalobos, Makoy Morales, Sebastian Castro, Manuel Chua, Cris Villonco and Arvic Tan are the special 30 actors from past Alix films who came in full force to play the many roles in this anniversary movie.
“I’m just overwhelmed by the support of these actors. All it took was one phone call to them and their respective managers, and they agreed to be part of this film,” Alix said.
Madilim ang Gabi had its world premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival in September and is one of the participating films in the ongoing Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino.
MADONNA TURNS 60
IF Madonna were a Filipino citizen, she will already be eligible for her senior citizen’s card, which gives a lot of discounts and privileges in almost all shops, restaurants and services.
The brave, bold, brilliant and beautiful Madonna just celebrated her 60th birthday and she chose to spend it with the people closest to her heart in Marrakesh, Morocco.
She is the undisputed Queen of Pop, the Queen of Reinvention and the Queen of Hearts.
As a celebrity who doesn’t mince words and says things straight, Madonna remains in the top tier of well-loved, widely followed and much-respected celebrities. Her many charity works, specifically Raising Malawi, are almost always done without much fanfare. She is also known for her great love for her family, especially her six children: her biological daughter Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon, now 21, and her son Rocco, now 17 (from former husband Guy Ritchie), and her four adopted children: David, James, and twins Esther and Stella.
Madonna’s concert in Manila two years ago will remain one for the books—two nights of pure musical bliss and world-class performance that made her Filipino fans love her more.
