Days after a series of earthquakes hit Mindanao, a 5.9 magnitude tremor struck Mindoro and nearby areas, including Metro Manila, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
The earthquake, with a depth of 79 km, was recorded at exactly 4:23 p.m. with the epicenter East of Lubang, Occidental Mindoro, according to Phivolcs.
Phivolcs said it is not expecting damage but aftershocks are expected to happen.
The earthquake was strongly felt as far as General Trias City, Cavite, and some parts of Metro Manila, particularly Manila, Quezon City, and Makati City, where several building administrators immediately executed immediate evacuation plans, such as the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
