New York City — The movie “Asian Persuasion” won the Audience Award for Best Full-Length Film at the SOHO International Film Festival that took place Thursday, September 21 at Fushimi Times Square in Manhattan, New York City.

The film’s director, Jhett Tolentino, along with Producers Michael Ang and Richard Gervais, were there to accept the awards.
“Asian Persuasion” follows the story of a frustrated chef, Mickey, who is finally divorced from his successful fashion executive wife, Avery, of 15 years.

Following a poorly negotiated divorce settlement, Mickey is saddled with alimony payments that he simply cannot afford. To avoid paying, he comes up with a convoluted scheme, with the help of his best friend Caspian, to get Avery remarried by creating a fake online dating profile for her. He finds Lee, a potential suitor from the dating site, and coaches Lee on how to make Avery fall for him.
The Filipino-American production’s cast includes Dante Basco, KC Concepcion, Kevin Kreider, Paolo Montalban, Geneva Carr, Celia Au, Scarlett Sher and Jax Bacani
