FORD Philippines continues to bolster its leadership in the pickup segment by launching the latest generation Ranger Raptor. The American auto manufacturer claims that the all-new performance pickup raises the off-road performance bar as a truck built for true enthusiasts.

“Rooted in our Ford Performance DNA, the Next-Gen Raptor is more capable and tougher than ever. It is designed to conquer any terrain with a bold new look and powerful performance with major upgrades and enhancements to already-popular features that Filipino customers have grown to love,” said Mike Breen, managing director of Ford Philippines. “We are truly excited for the return of the Raptor brand, and we are confident that the second-generation Raptor will continue to resonate with performance pickup enthusiasts in the country.”

Raptor looks made bolder

At a glance, the Next-Gen Raptor screams Ford Performance and links it to the rest of the Raptor family. A cut from its first generation, the Ford DNA is visible in the Next-Gen Raptor’s exterior and recognizable from all angles. The bold stance is a result of increased track and flared wheel arches. The front boasts Matrix headlights with C-clamp daytime running lights, more pronounced branding, and the bumper separating from the grille. Those 17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped with BF Goodrich K02 high-performance all-terrain tires designed for aggressive traction, on and off-road.

More enhancements inside

The sports steering wheel with an on-center Raptor logo, durable materials throughout, and Code Orange stitching on the instrument panel, trim, and seats are highlighted inside. These are further enhanced by Raptor’s ambient lighting at night. There are also magnesium paddle shifters to enable drivers to shift precisely. The cabin also features all-new, jet fighter-inspired sports seats in the front and rear, with prominent bolstering to aid during spirited cornering.

The proven 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel Engine was retained with the 10-speed automatic transmission (with e-Shifter)

Connectivity-wise, the new center console boasts seamless integration and enhanced functionality, extending to the instrument panel with easy access to controls, storage, and wireless charging capabilities. The large 12-inch digital instrument cluster with a fully-configurable layout and gauges displays start-up information. There is even farewell animation, digital speedometer and tachometer, and animated drive mode selection. Further, a ‘calm view’ removes information on demand from the display.

Raptor Performance DNA

The proven 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel Engine was retained with the 10-speed automatic transmission (with e-Shifter) generating 207 hp and 500N-m of maximum torque. There are seven driving modes (Normal, Sport, Slippery, Rock Crawl, Mud/Ruts, Sand, and Baja) to meet the demands of various driving conditions. These modes are calibrated to affect all aspects of the vehicle, from traction control to engine, and transmission calibration, among others.

The Next-Gen Raptor boasts a full-time four-wheel drive system with a rear locking differential, underbody protection, and aggressive approach/departure angles. It is equipped with 2.5-inch FOX shocks with position-sensitive damping technology. Equipped with a Trail Control System that functions like cruise control tailored for off-road, drivers can select a set speed with the truck to control the throttle and braking functions.

Advanced safety technology

The 360-Degree Camera with a Split-View Display aids in tight parking spaces and when off-roading. The top-down view around the vehicle and a zoom button further provides a closer look at an obstacle near the vehicle when going off-road. A dedicated off-road screen display presents vehicle information and a front-cam view of the terrain ahead with predictive overlay guidelines.

Myriads of advanced driver-assist technology features are available such as Active Park Assist 2.0, Adaptive Cruise Control w/ Stop & Go and Lane Centering, Pre-Collision Assist with Forward Collision Warning, Evasive Steer Assist, Reverse Brake Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Auto High Beam, Post Impact Braking, and Blind Spot Information System. Moreover, FordPass allows owners to enjoy remote features such as door lock and unlock, vehicle start and stop, vehicle locator, and vehicle status.

Pricing and colors

The Next-Gen Raptor is now available across Ford dealers nationwide with a starting price of P2.339 million and comes with a 5-year warranty for a worry-free ownership experience. It is available in colors for Arctic White, Absolute Black, Blue Lightning, Conquer Grey, and Code Orange (additional P15,000).
