In the streaming music giant, Tiana has also been consistent with her releases. Seven of her current Popular Top 10 songs have reached over 100,000 streams with her most popular, “Don’t Trip” generating nearly 450,000 streams.
Recently in town to meet several members of the media, the 24-year-old Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter cites her own personal experiences as the sources of her musical inspiration.
“I believe that for my audiences to truly appreciate my music, I must speak of my truth with the songs I sing,” Tiana briefly told SoundStrip and several members of the media during her press conference.
From being brutally honest in “Don’t Trip” with lyrics like “Don’t need no fake friends leeching…Smiling and spending on my end (what)… You saying one thing, then back track… All for you own fame, that’s whack…” to showing her more vulnerable side in “Slow It Down” with verses such as “Yeah, this feeling’s so right…Know it’s been on both of our minds…We can have this all the time…Let’s start with tonight,” there’s a refreshing vibe with the way Tiana expresses herself.
Always open to collaborations, Tiana has in fact, teamed up with the likes of four-time Grammy-nominated record producer, RoccStar as well as artists like TLC, Faith Evans, Sage the Gemini, and Latin artist J. Alvarez among many others.
Her latest single, “Slow It Down” is the result of her joining forces with R&B legend, Bobby V. The title is in fact, a homage to Bobby’s biggest hit, “Slow Down.”
“It’s been a long time since I released a song with another artist and I am beyond ecstatic with how this song turned out as I get to work with no less than one of the R&B greats,” she quipped.
As Tiana continues to work on a full-length album (her second and follow-up to her 2020 debut) that she intends to release before the year ends, expect Tiana Kocher to make more noise in the coming months.
