CHEMICAL manufacturer D and L Industries Inc. (DNL) was recognized by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), alongside with other publicly-listed companies, for its outstanding corporate governance practices based on the Asean Corporate Governance Scorecard.
This is the third consecutive year that DNL received such recognition from the ICD.
“Ensuring that we implement good corporate governance practices is among our top priorities as a company,” DNL President and CEO Alvin Lao said.
Lao added they see the recognition from the ICD “as an important foundation in achieving sustainable growth and business longevity.”
“We continue to look for ways to further improve our existing practices and align it with the best-in-class corporate governance practices,” he added.
The ACGS measures the performance of the companies in the areas of facilitating the rights and the equitable treatment of shareholders, how they relate to their different stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability thru timely disclosure of material information and how the board guides the company strategically, monitors the management, and ensures the board’s accountability to the company and the shareholders.
The ICD, meanwhile, is a non-stock, not-for-profit national association of corporate directors and other stakeholders engaged in corporate governance. Its mission is to champion good corporate governance and stewardship for the benefit of the society. It aims to be the key catalyst in the Philippine corporate governance ecosystem for inclusive and sustainable development.

MEANWHILE, Converge ICT Solutions Inc. announced it was recognized as the “Best Internet Service Provider in the Philippines” by a United Kingdom-based publication.
The firm’s connectivity product called “FiberX Time of Day,” which gives subscribers faster Internet speeds during their chosen pre-set time of the day, was named the “Most Customer-Centric Product in the Philippines.”
“It’s heartening to know that our efforts to continually enhance and expand our network infrastructure and product line are getting recognized by international industry experts,” said Jesus C. Romero, chief operations officer of Converge.
“These awards reflect our enduring commitment to fiber powering the whole Philippines and providing a premium connectivity experience to every Filipino through world-class products and services,” Romero added.
Winners were picked and evaluated by a panel of international industry experts along with an editorial team based on the finalist’s annual performance on innovations, reliability, cost efficiency, deployment of wider fiber network coverage, quality of service, tariff plans, professional field service and customer service, upstream capacity, and speed results in subscriber and business growth.
As of January, the company has already deployed more than two million fiber ports in the country, extending its footprint to over 613,000 kilometers.
Also, it expanded its coverage to more than 14.3 million homes, making it the largest fiber-to-the-home network nationwide.
