Fajardo, Thompson lead All-Star initial votes cast

June Mar Fajardo looks headed to another All-Star stint.

SAN MIGUEL Beer’s June Mar Fajardo and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s Scottie Thompson emerge as the leading candidates for the Philippine Basketball Association All-Star game set March 9 to 12 in Passi City in Iloilo.

Fajardo garnered 37,915 from fans so far followed by last season’s Most Valuable Player Thompson with 37,759 and teammate Japeth Aguilar with 37, 322 votes. 

Sophomore Jamie Malonzo, also of Barangay Ginebra, was fourth with 32,998, followed by Magnolia’s Calvin Abueva with 32,503.

Completing the top 10 are San Miguel Beer’s CJ Perez (31,184), Ginebra’s Christian Standhardinger (29,821), Rain or Shine’s James Yap (28,117) and Ginebra’s LA Tenorio (28,027) and Stanley Pringle (27,441).
