The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Tuesday that all of its 227,604 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel have already received their monetized Service Recognition Incentive (SRI).
PNP chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said that the SRI was given to all members of the PNP on January 4, based on the report submitted to him by the PNP Finance Service.
He said all qualified PNP personnel received a standard rate of P7,000 under the fund for Personnel Services and Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the PNP.
Azurin said those who have rendered less than a total or an aggregate four months of satisfactory service as of November 30, 2022 received a pro-rated share of SRI.
He said that the pro-rated share under the SRI, 40 percent was given to those who have rendered three months to less than four months; 30 percent for those with two months to less than three months; 20 percent for those with one month to less than two months; and 10 percent for those with less than one month.
The release of the one-time SRI to government workers through the order of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. under Executive Order No. 1 is in recognition to the collective and invaluable contribution to the government’s continuing efforts to ensure the responsive delivery of services to the public especially in the middle of the continuing public health emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic and other socio-economic challenges.
“On behalf of the men and women of the PNP we express our gratitude to the President for granting SRI to our PNP personnel and other government employees in the country. Tayo ay nagpapasalamat sa patuloy na pagtitiwala sa ating kapulisan at sa pagkilala sa ating serbisyo para sa kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayang Pilipino,” Azurin said.
The SRI amount that was received was subjected to 25 percent up to 30 percent taxes under the TRAIN law.
