A trailblazer for sustainable real estate, Damosa Land Inc. (DLI) celebrates 18 years of transforming communities as a homegrown developer of Mindanao. Through the years, the company has remained committed to boosting the socio-economic growth of the region through a growing portfolio of sustainable developments—driving economic recovery across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
“The best houses, buildings, and projects are built with the strongest foundations. With that, I thank the whole Damosa Land team and our directors for continuously fulfilling our mission to adapt to the shifting landscape of real estate and establish future-ready developments that will drive investor interest and expand opportunities for our region,” shares DLI President Ricardo “Cary” Lagdameo.
An innovator for multi-awarded sustainable communities
Damosa Land has long been recognized for its sustainable developments. The company has continued to boost the economic recovery of Davao, while ensuring that their properties are centered on eco-friendly amenities that are anchored in Davao’s agricultural heritage.
One of its recently awarded properties is Ameria—a nine-hectare residential subdivision. Dubbed as Best Eco-Friendly Housing Development by the PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards, Ameria boasts wide open spaces, nature-centric parks, and sustainably-built houses that are future-proof, durable, and environmentally friendly.
This year and in 2020, Damosa Land was also given a Special Recognition in Sustainable Design and Construction for its strong efforts in utilizing eco-friendly materials in the construction of their facilities by PropertyGuru Philippines.
Anflo Industrial Estate (AIE), DLI’s industrial arm that offers a state-of-the-art cold storage facility, was recently given an Excellence in Design For Greater Efficiencies (EDGE) certificate—the first cold storage facility in the Philippines to be given such recognition. The property garnered 51% energy savings, 29% water savings, and 38% less carbon emissions through the materials used in its construction.
Other recognitions received by Damosa Land for sustainability include: Best Residential Green Development and Best Township Development for Agriya, Best Housing Development in Metro Davao for Ameria, Best Office Development for Damosa Diamond Tower, Best Industrial Development for AIE, and Special Recognition in CSR.
Mindanao’s partner in economic development
Damosa Land is unstoppable as it continues to expand its commercial portfolio in the South. Launched in July 2021, the Damosa Diamond Tower—the first EDGE-certified office building in Mindanao—has been welcoming locators such as Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co. (SGV & Co.) and a couple of business process outsourcing (BPO) companies—OfficePartners360 and Full Potential Solutions Philippines, among others.
The company further proved to be on top of the shifting market demand as they started a franchise partnership with International Workplace Group (IWG). This will give way for both companies to develop and operate eight (8) IWG centers in Davao, Cagayan De Oro, and General Santos—paving the way for more investment and employment opportunities in Mindanao.
Additionally, the Damosa IT Park, the first PEZA-accredited IT park in Southern Mindanao—ramps up opportunities for BPO companies across the globe in as early as 2005.
Supplementing economic growth, Damosa Land has also positioned itself as the region’s partner in tourism development. Banking on Davao’s most prominent produce (banana plantations), Agriya—the first agritourism development of Mindanao—was recently lauded by the Department of Tourism for its unique and futuristic approach in boosting regional tourism traffic through the region’s rich agricultural heritage.
Damosa Land also introduced world-class hotel facilities like the US-based hotel chain Microtel by Wyndham in Davao and General Santos City. Launched early this year, Damosa Land paved the way to explore the beauty of Samal Island as they welcomed investors and tourists to the first marina lifestyle mixed-use development in the region—Bridgeport.
Looking back, Damosa Land has come a long way from their humble beginnings in the real estate sector. Having a wide array of eco-friendly developments, the company has stayed true to its core in pushing for sustainable economic growth for their community. The Damosa Land team knows that the last two years “were the hardest that we’ve experienced as a company. Bouncing back from that, we have so many projects in the pipe that are poised to push boundaries and provide substantial solutions to enhance the economic resiliency of our region. We will continue to be stronger in 2023,” shares Lagdameo.
