In a country like the Philippines, going green is a quixotic task. Nevertheless, boutique developer Arthaland remains committed to pursue the sustainability agenda because it becomes highly satisfying when people support their worthy cause and hope more will join them in their crusade.
Jaime C. Gonzalez, Arthaland vice chairman and President, told reporters in a recent press event that the company is committed to its adherence to sustainability through the Sevina Park, an 8.1-hectare master-planned community in Biñan, Laguna.
Sevina Park holds the distinction of being the first and only development in Southeast Asia to achieve Platinum certification under the Leadership in Engineering and Engineering Design (LEED) for Neighborhood Development and LEED for Homes categories and the very first to receive the Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence (BERDE) BERDE Districts 5-Star rating. It is also strategically located via the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) and in close proximity to popular schools, medical institutions and industrial estates,
Further, Sevina Park is envisioned to become a sustainable, close-knit community that lowers global carbon emissions, improves air quality, reduces electricity and water bills, and provides an environment for happier and healthier residents.
“Following the success of Sevina Park Villas, Una Apartments represents the next phase for development. We aim to bring our brand of excellently-designed, high-quality and sustainable homes to a much broader market with this mid-rise sustainable condominium comprising Studio and One-bedroom units. This commitment includes giving every Filipino the opportunity to live in a green home.” Gonzalez explained.
Christopher G. Narciso, Arthaland Executive Vice-president pointed out that Una Apartments raises the bar in living experience with its host of sustainable and wellness features, exceptional quality and superior design. He stressed Sevina Park accentuates efficiency as units are equipped with energy efficient air-conditioning systems, energy efficient lighting, low-flow plumbing fixtures which offer residents water and energy savings by as much as 20 percent. To provide natural ventilation, the units have functional windows that provide natural ventilation and optimize natural daylight.
He said all units in Una have an air-tight design to prevent sound and odor transfer between walls. Moreover, good indoor air quality is assured by the Energy Recovery Ventilator with commercial grade MERV filters and the presence of a Carbon Monoxide Monitor.
Similar to other Arthaland developments, each tower of Una Apartments will have its own Potager Garden where residents can have access to healthy and organic produce. Units are also more spacious with a high floor-to-ceiling height of 2.6 meters.
Una’s floors are made with Stone Polymer Composite (SPC) which is the latest innovative material in the flooring industry. With SPC Flooring, floors are more durable, water and scratch resistant, and easier to clean. It is also a sustainable community made up of 60 percent green and open spaces as all units have their own balcony.
It has also partnered with global furniture leader IKEA for several home products. Units have become more spacious with higher ceiling floor-to-ceiling height of 2.6 meters.
Future residents of Una Apartments will have exclusive access to a full-size swimming pool, kiddie pool, children’s play area, grill area, fitness center, function hall, and a sunken garden. They will also experience leisurely strolls or bike rides amidst the wonderful architecture by Leandro V. Locsin Partners and landscaped gardens.
Aside from keeping the environment healthy, Narciso said Sevina Park will also have its own health and wellness clinic in partnership with The Medical City (TMC). This will provide residents with holistic health and wellness services that are rooted from primary care from the expertise of the hospital’s medical practitioners right inside this sustainable community.
For first time owners, Arthaland made sure that Una Apartments is made even more accessible through the government’s Building Eligible Resilient Dwelling for Everyone (BALAI BERDE) program, a housing program of the National Home Mortgage Financing Corporation designed to increase capital allocations exclusively for green-certified projects. This means interested buyers of Una Apartments may loan up to 90 percent of the appraised value not exceeding P6 million with fixed interest rates for as low as 4 percent with loan term up to 30 years.
Una Apartments Tower 1 is scheduled for completion by the fourth quarter of 2026. It is on-track to achieve LEED by the US Green Building Council, WELL (WELL Building Standard), EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies), and BERDE.
