ADONIS TIERRA was named interim coach of the NLEX Road Warriors in the Philippine Basketball Association Commissioner’s Cup starting September 21.
Tierra is an 11-year assistant coach at NLEX since its D-League days. He fills the spot vacated by head coach Yeng Guiao, who returned to Rain or Shine.
“It’s already confirmed until no full time head coach is named,” NLEX manager Ronald Dulatre told BusinessMirror on Friday. “There’s no timetable when he’ll be coaching but we have the trust and confidence in him.”
Dulatre said Tierra has already accepted the position.
Dulatre said it’s the call of the top management to name a head coach.
Former National Basketball Association player Earl Clark will reinforce the Road Warriors in the Commissioner’s Cup.
Converge head coach Aldin Ayo, meanwhile, acquired his former player at De La Salle, Aljun Melecio, along with Kris Porter from Phoenix Super LPG in exchange for 6-foot-7 Ben Adamos and Kurt Lojera.
