FORMER Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner Jose Emmanuel “Noli” Eala was named chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) on Tuesday, Presidential Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles confirmed to BUSINESSMIRROR.
The 59-year-old Eala is the 11th chairman of the government sports agency.
“We confirm the appointment of Mr. Noli Eala as chairman of the Philippine Sports Commission,” Cruz-Angeles said through a text message.
Eala is expected to take his oath anytime soon. He joins bowling great Olivia “Bong” Coo, who was named commissioner.
The PSC, however, needs three more commissioners to complete its board.
