RCBC and Mastercard continue to offer RCBC Debit Mastercard cardholders greater benefits and easier ways to pay. From curated offers across e-commerce, dining, shopping and travel, to progressively enabling quick, convenient and safe check-outs with Tap & Go™ payments (contactless).
In a recent celebratory dinner, RCBC President and CEO Eugene Acevedo said that the partnership with Mastercard has been instrumental to the growth story of RCBC, and in complementing the suite of bank products and services through scaled-up offerings and wider accessibility.
“It aligns with our goal of providing our clients with a safe, secure, and delightful banking experience anywhere in the world,” Acevedo said.
Throughout the span of RCBC and Mastercard’s collaboration, the Yuchengco-led bank has been able to design award-winning campaigns and programs that leverage the perks and privileges of Mastercard to promote usage. These include 2022 Global Banking and Finance Review’s Best Banking Product in the Philippines, 2021 The Asian Banker Philippine Awards’ Best Customer Loyalty/Reward Initiative, 2021 International Finance Awards’ Best Customer Loyalty Program, among others.
One notable program designed for the emerging mass affluent is RCBC’s Hexagon Club Privilege Debit Mastercard, which caters to the unique needs of the segment with premium banking services and perks both inside and outside of RCBC branches. This program bagged the Excellence in Mass Affluent Banking by the RBI Trailblazer Awards.
Another is RCBC’s Christmas in Your Cards Promo, which secured a Platinum award in the 2021 Marcom Awards. It was a holiday campaign designed to transform every debit or prepaid card purchase into a rewarding experience. RCBC used mass personalization at scale which allowed the Bank to segment and serve content based on their interests, needs, and shopping habits.
“Mastercard is pleased to partner with RCBC, a multi-awarded bank at the forefront of digital banking solutions to design seamless, intuitive and secure digital banking experiences that meet the everyday needs of consumers,” said Simon Calasanz, Country Manager, Philippines, Mastercard.
RCBC Debit Mastercard cardholders can further stretch their peso through Priceless Specials, where they can browse a plethora of Mastercard-exclusive regional offers and benefits across travel, culinary, sports and entertainment and shopping. They may also take advantage of an ongoing calendar of domestic offers with key merchants from retail to e-commerce.
All RCBC Debit Mastercard cards will be progressively enabled for Tap & go payments in the coming years. Tap & go, or contactless payments, are a quick, convenient, and safe way to make everyday purchases, without the hassle of looking for cash and waiting for change.
RCBC Executive Vice President and Head of Global Transaction Group Manny Narciso said, “This partnership remains essential not just to the card payment business, but also to the economy, as this will help drive consumer spending.”
Held recently, the celebratory dinner was attended by senior executives and officers of Mastercard and RCBC.
