The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported that 28,008 Covid-19 cases were logged from August 8 to 14, higher by 3 percent as compared to the cases recorded from the previous week.
The average cases recorded per day is 4,001.
There were 229 deaths wherein 98 occurred on August 1 to August 14.
For August 15, the DOH logged 3,484 new cases with National Capital Region recording 1,131 new cases.
Critical and severe cases
As of August 14, there were 822 severe and critical cases admitted in hospitals for Covid-19.
Of the 2,571 ICU beds for Covid patients, 719 (28.0 percent) are occupied.
Vaccination
Over 72 million individuals or 92.33 percent of the target population have been vaccinated against Covid while 17 million individuals received their booster shots.
Meanwhile, 6.7 million senior citizens or 77.96 percent of the target A2 population have received their primary series.
The DOH has reminded the general public not to be complacent but continue to strictly observe the minimum public health standards under Alert Level 1.
