Only 39 national candidates and party list groups have submitted their Statements of Contribution and Expenditures (SOCEs) to the Commission on Elections Campaign Finance Office (Comelec-CFO) as of Monday.
Citing data from the Comelec-CFO, Comelec Law Department head John Rex Laudiangco said only Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson and Jose C. Montermayor Jr. have submitted their SOCEs as of 5 pm of June 6, 2022 among the presidential candidates.
None of the nine vice presidential candidates have filed their SOCE during the same period.
For senators, those who already submitted their SOCE are Guillermo T. Eleazar, Antonio Trillanes IV, Jose “Chel” Diokno, and Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada.
For party list groups, the SOCE filers are ABONO, SENIOR CITIZENS, BISAYA GYUD, ANG KABUHAYAN, AKO BISAYA, KABALIKAT NG MAMAMAYAN, ABANTE, ANAKPAWIS, ANG BUMBERO, BAYAN MUNA, A TEACHER, ACT TEACHERS, MAKABAYANG KOALISYON NG MAMAYAN, ANAC-IP, GABRIELLA, APEC, RECODBODA, PHILRECA, AKO PADAYON, ANGKLA, TULUNGAN TAYO, ABANTE PANGASINAN-ILOKANO, HOME OWNER, REBOLUSYONG ALYANSA MAKABANSA, KALINGA, MANILA TEACHERS, P3WD, PUSONG PINOY, LUNAS, PATROL, ANG WARAY, and BABAE AKO.
Laudiangco clarified the two separate factions of the MAGDALO PARA SA PILIPINO party list group also submitted their respective SOCEs to the Comelec CFO.
Aside from the national candidates and party list groups, Laudiangco said three political parties were also able to file their respective SOCEs namely, UNIDO, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino.
The deadline for filing SOCE is on June 8, 2022.
The SOCE will be used by Comelec to determine if the candidates, party list groups, and political parties complied with the election spending cap.
Comelec is expecting 46,193 candidates and 177 party list organizations, which participated in the polls last month, to submit their SOCE.
Erring candidates and party list groups, which will fail to submit their SOCE before the deadline could face imprisonment and perpetual disqualification from holding public office.
