The Department of Foreign Affairs has added one consular office in Cagayan De Oro City and three more passport renewal sites at the malls in the cities of Bacolod, Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro.
This brings to 20 the number of Temporary Off-site Passport Services (TOPS) of the DFA nationwide for Filipinos whose passports need to be renewed.
DFA Assistant Secretary Senen Mangalile said they hope that the opening of these three 3 TOPS in Visayas and Mindanao, and the consular office in CDO will help alleviate the surge in the demand for passport renewal.
“Combined, the 20 TOPS provide 10,000 appointment slots per day,” the DFA Office of Consular Affairs said in a tweet. “Its opening marks the fulfillment of DFA Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teodoro L. Locsin Jr.’s commitment to open 20 TOPS sites to address the growing demand for passport services.”
The consular office in CDO is located at SM CDO Downtown Premier. Aside from processing passport applications, the consular office also process Apostille and other consular and assistance-to-nationals services.
Also on the third floor of the same mall in CDO is the DFA TOPS which is purely for passport renewal applications only.
The TOPS in Bacolod is located at the Robinson’s Mall, while the TOPS in Iloilo is also hosted in Robinsons Malls Iloilo,
Applicants are still required to book slots through passport.gov.ph.
