Six presidential candidates and four vice presidential bets will be participating in the upcoming forum of Commission on Elections (Comelec) Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP).
Comelec George M. Garcia disclosed the final list of candidates to be featured in the Comelec-KBP 2022 PiliPinas Forum.
The participating presidential candidates are Ernesto C. Abella, Leodegario “Ka Leody” De Guzman, Norberto B. Gonzales, Faisal Magondato, Jose C. Montermayor Jr., and Senator Emmanuel “Manny” D. Pacquiao.
For the vice presidential candidates, Rizalito Y. David, Manny SD Lopez, Vicente “Tito” C. Sotto, and Carlos G. Serapio have confirmed they will be participating in the event.
Those who will not be joining in the event are presidential candidates Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr., Leonor “Leni” G. Robredo, Francisco “Isko” M. Domagoso, and Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson.
The non-participating vice presidential bets include Walden F. Bello, Willie T. Ong, Francis “Kiko” N. Pangilinan, Jose Lito L. Atienza, and Sara Duterte-Carpio.
“They cited conflict of schedule and previous commitment for not being able to participate,” Garcia said.
Participants of the Comelec-KBP PiliPinas Forum will undergo a one-hour interview from a panel from KBP.
The interview may be live and in-person; live and via teleconference call; or taped as live with no editing depending on the candidates
Comelec and KBP decided to hold the forum to replace the last two parts of its scrapped PiliPinas 2022 debate series.
The poll body discontinued its debate series after its partner organizer for the event, Vote Pilipinas or also known as Impact Hub, has yet to settle its liabilities to Sofitel Philippine Plaza.
