The Department of Health (DOH) is finalizing arrangements to donate Covid-19 vaccines to Myanmar and Papua New Guinea.
“Definitely, mag-pu-push through po ang pag-do-donate. Nag-umpisa na po ang arrangements o pakikipag-usap sa mga bansang ito [Definitely, the donation wil push through. We have already started with the arrangements or talks with these two countries],” Health Undersecretay Maria Rosario Vergeire said.
As to the brand or number of vaccines to be donated, Vergeire, said that they are still “finalizing the inventory.”
Earlier, Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said that they are working continually with the Department of Foreign Affairs and that the DOH has requested the regulatory departments of concerned manufacturers to extend the shelf life of the vaccines.
Cabotaje said that if manufacturers extend it, they will request the approval of the Food and Drug Administration.
