CNN Philippines has announced that nine presidential candidates and eight vice presidential bets are attending the debates hosted by the news network later this February.
BBM-Sara Uniteam presidential standard-bearer Bongbong Marcos and his running mate, Sara Duterte will not attend the debates, according to CNN. Marcos cited scheduling conflicts as his reason for not attending. No reason was given by Duterte.
CNN said that invitations to the candidates were sent separately.
Marcos has earlier declined to take part in the Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews for GMA Network and the Kapisanan ng Brodkaster ng Pilipinas Presidential Forum.
CNN Philippines has confirmed the attendance of labor leader Leody de Guzman, ex-presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella, Jose Montemayor Jr., former defense chief Norberto Gonzales, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, Faisal Mangondato, Sen. Ping Lacson, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, and Vice President Leni Robredo in the upcoming presidential debate scheduled on February 27.
Buhay Rep. Lito Atienza, ex-congressman Walden Bello, Manny SD Lopez, Rizalito David, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, Carlos Serapio, Senate President Tito Sotto, and Willie Ong are also confirmed to attending the vice presidential debate to be held on Feb. 26.
