The Virgin Labfest stages its final activities this weekend at the CCP, VLF,
and Tanghalang Pilipino Facebook Pages. The Festival is hosted by the
Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Writer’s Bloc and Tanghalang Pilipino.
At 5 pm of December 4 and 5, the Writing Fellows, mentored by Glenn
Sevilla Mas will showcase their works through a series of short plays directed
by Dennis Marasigan.
At 8 in the evening, FLASHBACK will feature the works which marked a
transition from the live stage to an online platform. Juliene Mendoza’s
Multiverse, Jobert Gray Landeza’s Titser Kit and Floy Scott Tiogangco’s Pilot
Episode make a comeback, demonstrating that not even a pandemic can
keep us down.
Even more exciting, the playwrights and works to be featured in VLF 17 will
be announced! And we will formally open the door for entries for VLF 18 in
2023!
Established in 2005, the Virgin Labfest is the premier playwrights festival in
the country producing untried, untested and unstaged works. It is known for
programming and providing support for the development of plays that dare
define and defy the times.
