THE Stock Knowledge Virtual Reality (VR) mobile application was recently launched and is now available for free downloads in Google Play Store to cater to high-school students, teachers, and school administrators.
It is a mobile-educational app that provides high-quality gamified immersive math, chemistry, physics, Earth science, and biology subjects.
The outstanding features of the application are supported even more with international-quality standards. Two research papers based on pieces of evidence presented to the International Conference on Open and Distance eLearning show ways to maximize education delivery by leveraging on emerging technologies like augmented reality (AR), VR, gamification, and adaptive learning.
For the initial testing phase of the platform, the business was able to build collaborations with the Department of Education (DepEd)-Manila and Makati, and banked on student feedback for several product iterations to make it more accessible, inexpensive, and compatible with various mobile phone-requirements. This resulted in a higher learning and teaching efficiency rate. UNICEF’s Innovation Fund also supported the creation and deployment of the Stock Knowledge open-source platform.
While nationwide immunization campaigns continue and full face-to-face learning remains limited, the government pursues to fill in the gaps in the technological aspect of fostering new teaching methods, and pique the interest of each student enrolled in DepEd’s curricula.
Anna Marie Benzon, Stock Knowledge CEO, said that having modern tools collaborating with traditional educational aspects and stimulating more interest in science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, engagement with students become easier. She added that having educational-technology start ups will make the academic sector flexible, especially during the pandemic.
Given the prolonged lockdown that forces schools to conduct online delivery, Benzon said applications like Stock Knowledge’s enhance the learning experience and classroom interaction remotely.
The Stock Knowledge app is the most affordable, accessible, and effective in engaging students to make science and math less intimidating to learn. Those who wish to experience the latest version with AR content may contact the company.
