Filipino children shout “Ako ay Mahalaga” to celebrate World Children’s Day with Right Start, an organization that creates creative caring spaces and kits for children to reach their full creative potential.
The “Ikaw ay Mahalaga” campaign started with the release of an engaging kids workbook and a song written and performed by singer-songwriters Acel and Denice Lao.
The workbook is packed with an activity representing each children’s rights and was designed by artist Renzo Viray with contributions from Pauline Garcia, Architect Raj Abella and award-winning illustrator Beth Parrocha. Supported by the Belo Medical Group, the book will be distributed to 1000 Filipino children for free.
The song also titled “Ikaw ay Mahalaga” focuses on the importance of conversations between adults and kids when it comes to practicing children’s rights in the day-to-day. It will be featured on a special video featuring Scarlet Snow and many other Filipino children showcasing their talents on the special video that’s edited by Gab Banzon.
