DOH logs 7,835 new Covid cases on Thursday as Metro Manila eases to Alert Level 3

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday logged 7,835 additional Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 2,698,232.

There were 5,317 recoveries and 154 deaths.

Of the total number of cases, 3.1 percent (84,850) are active cases, 95.4 percent (2,573,161) have recovered, and 1.49 percent (40,221) have died.

Fifty-eight duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 42 are recoveries and 2 are deaths.

Moreover, 89 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation

All laboratories were operational on October 12, 2021 while 4 labs were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

Based on data in the last 14 days, the 4 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 1.3 percent of samples tested and 1.2 percent of positive individuals.
