Last May 21, promising singer-songwriter Agatha Leigh graced SoundStrip Live & in Quarantine with a special “lockdown” version of her original song, “From Far Away.” Three months later, Agatha has released an official studio recording song.
Since she started pursuing a career a few years years ago, Agatha has been sharing her heartfelt songs in gigs and productions. She enjoys writing out her tough experiences into soulful songs, such as her “thesis song” which humorously narrates her thesis-writing experience in 2017.
Last year, she had the opportunity to join the Philpop Songwriting Bootcamp, allowing her to further hone her songwriting chops.
Due to its special circumstances, Agatha considers “From Far Away” as very personal to her.
“Someone wrote me a poem with the line ‘Ten thousand miles away yet all I think about is you; I just want to look into your eyes and dance away the time,’ and I instantly knew that I had to write a song about a love that knows no boundaries. It’s about a long-distance relationship, and it’s about enjoying the love even if someone is from far away,” Agatha revealed in a recent interview with SoundStrip.
“It took a while for me to put it out there, but I really feel that now is the perfect time to do it. I was honestly holding back from taking a step forward in music, but the people around me were so supportive that it pushed me to take a leap of faith,” she posted on Facebook on the day of the song’s release last August 21.
Agatha Leigh’s “From Far Away” is released by Spaced Out Records, the record label of singer and Agatha’s fellow PhilPop camper, Aby Singson. The song can be streamed and downloaded at major streaming platforms.
