YUKA SASO pieced together a 71 on Sunday to win by two strokes the Nitori Ladies Golf Tournament in Hokkaido for her second straight Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association Tour victory.
Saso, the 19-year-old Filipino-Japanese who ruled the NEC Karuizawa tournament in the Nagano Prefecture also in Japan two weeks ago, totaled 275 over four rounds at the Otaru Country Club to beat Sakura Koiwai, who finished with a 72 for 277.
Together with the P6.5 million she banked at the NEC Karuiza, Saso pocketed a whopping P16 million this time to hike her total winnings to more than P22.5 million.
That 71 was Saso’s worse for the week after carding 67, 69 and 68 in the par-72 layout.
Three players—Kana Mikashima, Ji Hee Lee and Mayu Hamada—were a far third, 10 shots off Saso.
