BIDA Ang May Disiplina: Solusyon sa Covid-19 campaign
On Friday, the DOH, in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), launched today the “BIDA Ang May Disiplina: Solusyon sa Covid-19″ campaign at the Riverside Drive, Marikina City.
‘BIDA Ang May Disiplina: Solusyon sa Covid- 19’ integrates the DILG #DisiplinaMuna campaign and DOH’s BIDA Solusyon. #DisiplinaMuna is geared towards cultivating discipline amongst the members of the community. ‘BIDA solusyon,’ on the other hand, highlights the importance of observing the minimum health standards that are cost efficient yet considered effective ways to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
“Layunin nitong palakasin ang kultura ng disiplina at mataas na kamalayan ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino sa pag-iingat laban sa Covid-19 [The goal of this is to strengthen the culture of discipline and for high awareness of Filipino families to intensify the fight against Covid-19],” shared #DisiplinaMuna Ambassador and Marikina Mayor Marcy R. Teodoro in his opening message.
DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya hailed Marikina City’s culture of discipline as it records one of the lowest cases among the cities and municipalities in the National Capital Region.
Malaya also explained that Marikina City was chosen to be the first BIDA ang may disiplina: Solusyon sa Covid-19 model city because of its proactive Covid-19 response. He noted that while other local governments invest in contact tracing, Marikina City was able to establish its own molecular and diagnostic laboratory, the first LGU-owned and operated laboratory in NCR.
Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque reinforced the call to BIDA Solusyon. He emphasized how the minimum health standards will protect oneself and other people from Covid-19.
“Nais po nating muling ipaalala sa lahat ng mga kasamahan natin dito sa Marikina at sa buong bansa ang importansya ng pagsunod sa ating mga alituntunin, partikular na ang minimum health standards para mapigilan ang pagkalat ng Covid-19 virus [ We want to remind our fellows here in Marikina and all over the country on the importance of following the rules, particularly the minimum health standards to prevent the spread of Covid-19]. Kailangan natin isabuhay ang mga ito, kahit mahirap, kahit nakukulitan na kayo [We need to practice it even it is difficult, even you are annoyed already],” Duque explained, elaborating that BIDA solusyon! stands for B-awal walang mask, I-sanitize ang kamay, Iwas hawak sa mga bagay, D-uminstansya at A-lamin ang tamang impormasyon.
DILG and DOH will also spearhead the BIDA Disiplina Brigade that will reach out to more barangays in rolling out the BIDA Ang May Disiplina: Solusyon sa Covid-19 campaign.
