As part of BusinessMirror’s campaign to promote everyone’s safety and well-being during the global health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have invited established and independent artists to perform at least one song in their own homes while urging everyone to stay indoors.
Denin Sy is a singer-songwriter who made his recording debut in 2010 when he released the album Deninman Songs for Lana which was distributed under Synergy Music & Star Records. Denin says his brand of pop music is generally characterized by simple words, catchy melodies, full of stories and formed from inspiration.
A licensed architect, Denin’s lifelong passion for music never waned even when he focused on his family and construction business while still writing commercial jingles. Since 2019, he has been releasing several new original songs including “Ikaw Na Lang Ang Hinihintay,” “Magbabalik Sa Iyo,” “Feel You Here” and more recently, “Talaga Ba (Sumaya Bago Sumuko)” and “Tara Na Tahan Na,” a tribute to fellow Filipinos and frontliners.
During the recent lockdown and still ongoingt quarantine period, he also made parodies and vlogs to entertain both the frontliners and people staying at home.
For SoundStrip Live & in Quarantine, Denin takes centerstage with a special rendition of “Talaga Ba (Sumaya Bago Sumuko)” which he says is about “the stages in a relationship; the getting to know stage, the sweetness stage, the inaalat stage going to the break-up stage and the reminiscing stage.”
