Ford brings back the F-150

Ford Philippines Managing Director PK Umashankar with the F-150 4×4 Platinum SuperCrew AT and 4×2 Lariat SuperCrew AT variants.

BIG, bad, bold, and it’s back. Ford Philippines recently launched online the internationally-renowned Ford F-150 full-sized pickup truck. It’s reentry to the market further expanded Ford’s truck portfolio in the country. The F-150 is part of Ford’s F-Series and sets the global standard in trucks with its standout look and design, powerful performance, class-leading capabilities, and advanced smart and safe technologies. To date, it’s America’s bestselling truck for the 43rd straight year and bestselling vehicle for the 38th consecutive year.

Available in two variants, 4×4 Platinum SuperCrew AT and 4×2 Lariat SuperCrew AT, the top spec’s exterior is fitted with silver mesh satin-aluminum grille, tailgate applique, chrome side mirror/door/tailgate handles, tailgate step with tailgate lift assist. There are also bright beltline moldings, high-gloss black B-pillar applique, platinum badge on fender sides, a twin-panel moonroof, and power deployable running boards.

The interior features a unique and luxurious leather material with genuine black ash wood trim accents, aluminum applique in the center console, unique instrument cluster gauges, and leather-wrapped console lid/shift knob. Also, there are 10-way power-adjustable driver/front passenger seats with ActiveMotion massage function, color-coordinated carpet flooring with premium floor mats, and metallic door sill inserts with Platinum branding.

The 4×2 Lariat AT variant, meantime, comes with the Sport appearance package consisting of the body-color grille with black mesh, side mirror caps, door/tailgate handles, magnetic angular step bars, and Sport box decals. There’s also a unique Lariat finish on the instrument panel, media bin lid, and doors, as well as leather seats. Standard on both F-150 variants are body-color bumpers, 20-inch alloy wheels, high strength aluminum alloy body, daytime running lamps, quad-beam headlamps, LED fog lamps and taillamps, a 5.5-inch long box, and front tow hooks.

Motivation comes from Ford’s proven 3.5L V6 twin-turbo EcoBoost engine generating an impressive 375 hp and a staggering 637 N-M of maximum torque. It is coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift. Aside from Auto Start-Stop Technology, there’s also Electronic Shift-On-The-Fly (ESOF) 4×4 System exclusive to the 4×4 Platinum variant.

The F-150 features Ford Co-Pilot 360—Ford’s safety suite composed of Pre-Collision Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Lane Keeping System (LKS) and Auto-High Beam Headlamps.

Other standard features and advanced technologies are AdvanceTrac with RSC (Roll Stability Control), Dual-Stage Front Airbags, Front-Seat Side Airbags and Safety Canopy System with Side-Curtain Airbags and Rollover Sensor, Individual Tire Pressure Monitoring System, SecuriLock Passive Anti-Theft System, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), and Perimeter Alarm. The Platinum variant gets a boost with Inflatable Rear Seatbelts.

As for driver-assist technologies (DAT), there is a 360-degree camera with a split-view display, Active Park Assist, Curve Control, Hill Start Assist, SOS Post-Crash Alert System, Trailer Sway Control, Rain-Sensing Wipers, and Reverse Sensing System. Convenience-wise, myriad of features are remote start system, remote tailgate release, 8-inch LCD touchscreen, SYNC 3 with AppLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, two smart-charging USB ports and 12V Powerpoint, a navigation system, eight-inch productivity screen in the instrument cluster, and a 10-speaker with subwoofer sound system powered by Bang & Olufsen.

The F-150 is priced at P2.698 million (4×2 Lariat SuperCrew AT) and P2.998 million (4×4 Platinum SuperCrew AT). Available colors for the 4×4 Platinum are Blue Jeans, Star White, Iconic Silver, and Agate Black. The exclusive Star White color variant is available for an additional P15,000. As for the 4×2 Lariat, available colors are Rapid Red, Oxford White, Iconic Silver, and Agate Black.
