As part of BusinessMirror’s campaign to promote everyone’s safety and well-being during the global health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have invited established and independent artists to perform at least one song in their own homes while urging everyone to stay indoors.
Born in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, Shaniah Rollo was only 13 when she first shot to global prominence with a sensational stint at the popular talent search series, Ireland’s Got Talent where she received a standing ovation for her stunning rendition of Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colours.” She ultimately made it as far as the semifinal round of the competition.
In 2018, she again competed in another talent competition, Ireland’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest and made it all the way to First Runner-Up. The daughter of musicians who have performed in Vietnam and South Korea and named after country music superstar Shania Twain, music runs naturally in Shaniah’s blood.
Still in her teens and known for her pristine, soulful vocals, Shaniah Rollo graces SoundStrip Live & in Quarantine with a goosebumps-inducing rendition of Jamie Rivera’s “Heal Our Land,” a song that resonates even more strongly amid this COVID-19 health crisis.
