As part of BusinessMirror’s campaign to promote everyone’s safety and well-being during the global health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have invited established and independent artists to perform at least one song in their own homes while urging everyone to stay indoors.
As a former member of Lito Molina and his Jazz Friends and as leader of the Rolly Rodriguez Quarter, seasoned musician Rolly Rodriguez has played either alto or tenor sax with some of the county’s finest jazz musicians.
In the record Cruisin’ Jazz by the Rolly Rodriguez Quartet, Rolly’s soothing sax provided new life to such standards like “The Girl From Ipanema,” “Secret Love,” “The Shadow of Your Smile” and “Misty.”
Here at SoundStrip Live & in Quarantine, Rolly’s calming number, “Rolly’s Lullaby” is introduced by his daughter, Emmy award-winning reporter at Boston 25 News, Elysia Rodriguez who also revealed that her father wrote this tune when she was still a baby.
