As part of BusinessMirror’s campaign to promote everyone’s safety and well-being during the global health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have invited established and independent artists to perform at least one song in their own homes while urging everyone to stay indoors.
Known for his work with his band Jensen & The Flips and Memphiis, Jensen Gomez is a singer-songwriter who is identified with the alternative side of soul, R&B and electronic music. His songs, such as “Maybe,” “Could Have Been,” “Umpisa,” “Love+U” and “Borrowed” reflect his uncanny ability to combine engaging melodies with introspective lyrics.
His latest single, “Gemini Soul,” which he is performing for SoundStrip Live & in Quarantine is no exception. Jensen says he considers the song he writes and records as a solo act as his most “honest and grounded” and “falls in the center of the spectrum between his songs from Jensen and the Flips and Memphiis.”
Jensen further reveals that “Gemini Soul” is a song about a deep conversation with yourself re “who you were and who you are now and everything that came with it.” With the ongoing lockdown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, perhaps there is no better time to do some soul-searching and have this kind of deep conversation.
“Gemini Soul” is released under Sony Music Philippines.
