As part of BusinessMirror’s campaign to promote everyone’s safety and well-being during the global health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have invited established and independent artists to perform at least one song in their own homes while urging everyone to stay indoors.
Best known for her memorable stint in the popular talent search series, The X-Factor UK, singing sensation Alisah Bonaobra has always been a formidable contestant in many other high profile singing competitions.
Alisah was a runner-up in the second season of The Voice of the Philippines in 2015 and won gold and silver medals in four categories in 2016 of the World Championship of Performing Arts.
But it is during the 2017 season of The X-Factor UK where Alisah shined brightest. Having made it as far as the third live shows, Alisah left a particularly lasting impression on judges Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh who dubbed as her “Filipina-Tigress” for her tenacity and competitiveness.
Now here on SoundStrip Live & in Quarantine, Alisah shows off both the range and the form that endeared her to British and global audiences alike. Her latest single, “Ginto ang Sandali” is a song about hope and perseverance which incidentally also aptly describes her musical journey. In the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Alisah says the song is also a strong reminder of why every second counts. She further counsels that while riding out this storm we should also make use of our time in a very productive way.
