VOLLEYBALL Community Gives Back to the Philippines (VCGBPH) expanded its fund-raising drive to assist tournament personnel who were affected by the suspension of domestic leagues due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The VCGBPH—led by Charo Soriano, Alyssa Valdez, Dzi Gervacio and Gretchen Ho—heeded the request of referees, ball retrievers and bouncers for assistance during enhanced community quarantine.
“With the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine, daily wage earners have found themselves struggling to earn a living. Earning their livelihood has been one of the greatest uncertainties that a lot of countrymen have been worrying about. Some of these daily wage earners hit closer to home for the volleyball,” the VCGBPH said in a statement.
In the spirit of bayanihan, the VCGBPH launched #CARINGFORALL: Down The Line, We Are One to provide assistance for daily wage earners in the volleyball community.
Rebisco was the first responder to the drive.
“We are humbly asking for support in assisting our volleyball heroes behind the game, who are in need of our help. Any amount will be of help to get us through this crisis,” the VCGBPH added.
Donations could be sent to Ryan Sordan through BPI bank account 8069-063277. Visit Volleyball Community Give Back on Facebook and @vcgbph on Instagram and Twitter for more details.
Still ongoing is #ServeOurFrontliners: RAFFLES FOR HEROES, a drive to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) for the medical frontliners. VCGBPH already donated 310 PPEs to Sultan Kudarat in Mindanao.
