THE Republic of China’s (Taiwan) donation of 300,000 face masks to the Philippines were flown in on Tuesday by Eva Air at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia).
This is apart from the island nation’s pledge of 6 million masks to other regional countries to help them fight the new coronavirus pandemic.
The quantity of the donation was disclosed by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines in a news statement issued on Monday evening.
According to airport sources, the masks arrived at the premier airport and was received by the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (Meco) officials at the Paircargo warehouse.
Taiwan’s “mask diplomacy” campaign was launched on April 1 when it pledged to donate 10 million masks to European countries, the US and diplomatic allies.
