FOLLOWING President Duterte’s declaration of state of calamity in the country, some 7,000 regular and casual employees of Parañaque City will receive their full midyear bonus, revealed Mayor Edwin Olivarez.
What’s more, all workers will get their P6,000 clothing allowance from March 19 to 23, he added.
While Luzon is under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), Parañaque City Hall employees can obtain their perks via their respective Land Bank automated teller machine, or ATM, he said.
“Upon the recommendation of the city finance committee and there being sufficient funds for the purpose, we will release staring tomorrow both the bonus and clothing allowance,” said Dr. Anthony Pulmano, city treasurer.
He said that such financial benefits add to the regular monthly salary the employees have been receiving during this period of calamity due to the spread of the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19.
“The early release of the bonus pay is to augment the financial needs of employees who would be economically affected by the crisis,” Pulmano said.
The city government posted an income of P5.3 billion in 2019, or an increase of P1.6 billion from P3.7 billion earnings in 2018, due to tax collection efficiency and the ease of doing business in Parañaque.
