If he will have his way, President Rodrigo R. Duterte said each municipality will have a infrastructure project before he ends his term in two years.
President Rodrigo R. Duterte made the statement during his speech at the 2020 General Assembly of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) at the Marriott Hotel in Pasay City on Tuesday evening.
“What I want is in my last two years, if I can equitably distribute the money of the republic to cover the entire Philippines on projects, large or small, as long as everyone has one,” Duterte said.
He said this will be his “mindset” before in the remaining years of his term.
“What I want is for you to be able to say that at least I looked back to municipalities,” he added.
To recall, among the achievements being touted by the current administration is its numerous infrastructure project under its Build Build Build program.
Duterte earlier ordered his Cabinet members to only focus on infrastructure projects, which are likely to be completed within his term is the completion Metro Manila Skyway-Stage 3 project.
Duterte, however, admitted some of the said projects were started by the previous administration.
“Some where started during my predecessors’ days but completed during my term. But for me that is okay I can give the credit to them for I never started it. I’m just finishing it. It’s no big deal for anyone,” Duterte said.
