SUPER app Grab is set to launch its services in San Jose del Monte in Bulacan, as the city gears up to be “digital ready” to harness the economic potential of digital economy.
Next month, Grab will be introducing three of its services to San Jose del Monte, namely: GrabTrike, GrabFood and GrabExpress.
This, according to Grab Philippines President Brian Cu, will create thousands of livelihood opportunities for the residents and could help the local economy grow.
“We aim to continue the use of technology to help improve our access to public service and commercial services,” Cu said.
For his part, San Jose del Monte City Mayor Arthur Robes said Grab’s entry into the city will provide a boost in its digital initiatives.
“This will be a significant step in our goals of becoming a digital-ready city while remembering our city’s rich history and recognizing the deep traditions of our people,” he said.
Grab and the local government have also agreed “to build a hyper-localized mapping system of the city to effectively identify significant points-of-interest in the communities to help improve the accuracy and efficiency in delivering public and commercial services to its residents such as food delivery, parcel delivery, and pickup and drop-off points.”
The partners will also share relevant data on the updated base map or satellite imagery of San Jose del Monte City.
Robes noted that his office also hopes that the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will allow Grab to introduce GrabCar services in the city.
