SM Supermalls has several precautionary measures in place in all its mall nationwide to promote personal hygiene among shoppers and to help keep them safe from 2019-nCOV infection. Security guards at all mall entrances have been instructed to advise shoppers to use alcohol dispensers placed strategically at the doorways and in all public restrooms.
“As we always prioritize the safety and well-being of our customers, tenant partners and employees, we have deployed the following precautionary measures,” said SM Supermalls president Steven Tan.
In an official statement, SM said that there is no confirmed case of the Coronavirus in the Mall of Asia Complex contrary to what is circulated on social media. Measures taken by SM include:
- Sanitation team that continually disinfects common areas with heavy customer contact such as escalator handrails and elevator buttons.
- Comfort rooms are sanitized every 30 minutes.
- Sanitary alcohol dispensers are installed in all entrances.
- Posters are placed in entrances containing the latest information bulletins vetted by the DOH and WHO.
- All security guards and mall personnel are required to wear face masks.
