World pool champion Rubilen Amit won six straight sets over fellow Filipino Chezka Centeno, 7-3, to snatch the gold in the 9-ball women’s singles event of the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) on Sunday at the Manila Hotel Tent.
Centeno, who won the gold against Amit in the 10-ball event, had a two rack lead at the start, 3-1.
Amit, who is No. 3 in the women’s world pool ranking, gained momentum in the fifth rack and never looked back.
Amit notched her first Gold against Centeno in three SEAG finals. Centeno ended her two-straight gold streak and bagged silver.
Amit now has a total of 12 SEAG medals, seven of which are gold, since her 2015 debut in the biennial competition .
