There is enough manpower at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) to respond to the expected surge of passengers who will travel in and out of the country during the Halloween break, according to Bureau of Immigration (BI) Port Operations Division Chief Grifton Medina.
More than 500 immigration agents and officers, he added, are currently deployed at the three terminals of Naia, “which is adequate to cater to the demand of the traveling public.”
Medina said these officers are assigned to the airport’s BI counters to void the long passengers queue.
“Our officers have been instructed not to be late or absent for work this peak season, they should not go on leave until after the Halloween break,” Medina said. “All counters are manned to ensure that we provide our service efficiently,” he added.
The Philippine Red Cross, meanwhile, said is ready to provide safety and welfare assistance by mobilizing 156 ambulances, and more than 1,700 staff and volunteers nationwide during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ days.
“As always, PRC is in full operation to accommodate everyone, especially our kababayans who will be going home to their respective provinces to visit their departed loved ones. We want to ensure their safety,” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon.
