THE MetroRemit service of Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) was chosen the “Remittance Product of the Year” in the recently concluded The Asian Banker Philippine Awards 2019.

MetroRemit is Metrobank’s brand of remittance service that offers a wide array of remittance products and services through a large network of about 300 remittance centers, partners, and tie-ups worldwide.

This enables depositors and clients of partner banks abroad and remittance companies to send money to the Philippines promptly and safely. After a comprehensive review process and stringent evaluation, the Asian Banker and the International Council of Advisors determined that the product offered key innovations that merited the award.

One such feature of MetroRemit is its real-time crediting. Any remittances made to Metrobank accounts are reflected almost instantly. Clients may also remit to other Philippine bank accounts, which are received within 24-hours. Other valuable add-on services include Door-to-Door Cash Delivery and Cash Pick-up at over 10,000 locations nationwide.

“Filipinos around the world, especially OFWs, already have a lot to deal with while working abroad. As their trusted partner, we are focused to provide meaningful approaches to ensure that their remittances reach their loved ones. In this way, they are able to save and manage their hard-earned money,” said Metrobank Executive Vice President and Retail Banking Sector Head Richard So.

“We are delighted that our determined effort to provide convenient and secure ways to remit money has benefited countless clients,” So added.

The Asian Banker Philippine Awards is an international award-giving body that recognizes the best performing banking and financial institutions in the country. Now on its sixth year, the annual award evaluates over 160 banks across many countries and regions.
