THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Wednesday it has started the construction of the Logac-Lasam-Gagabutan Road in Cagayan.
Public Works Secretary Mark A. Villar said the 3.1-kilometer gravel road will provide “faster and better connection” between Masi, San Juan, and Bural, benefiting residents of these far-flung areas.
He explained that the P74-million road improvements involves the cement paving of two lanes and the provision of drainage structures and slope protection. It will be completed by April 2020.
DPWH Region 2 Director Loreta M. Malaluan added that her office has received positive feedback from residents of Zinundungan Valley.
“By next year, Cagayanos will no longer have to endure three hours walk from their houses in Barangay Masi to Barangay Gagabutan where they can ride tricycles bound for the población, greatly cutting travel time and improving provision of public services,” she said.
