CLARK FREEPORT—A forum-workshop on personal financial planning particularly customized for women was held at the Quest Hotel and Conference Center here recently.
The Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE) in partnership with the Philippine Women’s Economic Network (PhilWEN) and Insular Life (InLife) hosted the free financial literacy workshop.
Entitled: “Shaping Her Future: The Sheroes’ runway to Financial Freedom,” the workshop aims to empower more Filipino women and expand their access to risk management solutions and investment opportunities on financial management, as well as provide network access to business partners. The Sheroes Movement is a campaign to help shape women’s future via a personal financial forum through the PBCWE.
Raoul Littaua, InLife senior vice president and head of Agency Distribution Group, said his firm has a serious commitment to gender equality and women empowerment.
“That is why we are very glad to have this partnership with PBCWE and are offering this financial literacy program,” he said.
“Always, there are right ways of doing it and maybe ways that can be improved. We are here as a financial organization to teach women the right way of doing personal financial planning for a more secured financial future,” he explained.
“Everybody should be doing personal financial planning,” he added.
The workshop is open to women and also men to provide them with basic financial management tools that will focus on financial values, spending habits and cash-flow analysis.
“It is specifically designed for women but it is also for men because they have women in their lives.” Amor Curaming, PBCWE program manager, said. A free financial consultation was also conducted after the program to all participants.
PhilWEN is a consortium of six women’s groups representing a broad section of industries where women participate by advocating the economic empowerment of women through initiatives.
InLife is the first and largest Filipino life insurance company, and the only mutual company in the Philippines. PBCWE is the sole licensed partner of the Economic Dividends for Gender Equality in the Philippines.
