THERE’s no better way to celebrate and strengthen the 50 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Singapore than to feature elements the citizens of both countries love: food and shopping.
From September 6 to 15, Singaporium, an exclusive lifestyle and food pop-up, will offer Manila consumers a chance to experience the tastes, sights and spirit of the Lion City without leaving the Metro. Installed at The Podium Mall in Ortigas Center, the pop-up will showcase 17 Singaporean brands covering fashion, food and lifestyle. It is organized by Enterprise Singapore, a government agency helping the city-state’s companies grow and globalize.
Fashion and lifestyle: Dress in the latest trends at clothing brands Our Second Nature and Her Velvet Vase; taste the luxuriously smooth, melt in your mouth chocolate from premium bean-to-bar chocolate maker Benns; indulge your inner child at toy-design studio Mighty Jaxx and Singapore’s premier entertainment café Play Nation.
Customize your own special paper and leather goods at artisanal crafts maker Bynd Artisan, then get Christmas inspirations at stationary-gift shop Klosh, before getting some pampering at the Lion City’s favorite health and wellness brand OSIM, as well as skin care and face-spa company Porcelain. Finally, shop for premium products with a uniquely Singaporean flair, specially curated by Singapore Airline’s flagship retailer KrisShop.
Food: Singapore’s favorite food and drinks will also be available at the pop-up to satiate the palates of Manila’s foodies.
Try the best customizable burgers at Wolf Burgers, or a succulent satay— traditional skewered meat grilled over slow-burning charcoal—at Jumain Sataysfaction. Don’t miss Singaporean noodles from heritage food house Ming Fa, Singapore’s take on iconic Western dishes at Collin’s, healthy and fresh halal-certified Mexican and Turkish food at Stuff’d, as well as mouthwatering wok-fried rice bowls at Wok Hey. To wash down all that great food, there are ready to drink teas, soy drinks and juices by Asian-drink purveyor Yeo’s.
Visitors can also expect daily raffle draws sponsored by participating brands at Singaporium. The grand prize is a three-day, two-night trip for two to Singapore. To qualify, just complete a list of simple tasks indicated on an activity card, then drop their raffle stubs at the designated drop-off location. The winner will be announced on the closing day of the pop-up on September 15.
On the evening of September 6, up-and-coming jazz, soul, funk band Extrapolation will provide good tunes to entertain.
Get ready to shop and savor all things Singaporean. Visit Singaporium from September 6 to 15 at The Podium Mall in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City.
