THE Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa) on Thursday announced it has allocated P1 billion to fund its rebate program for its first batch of qualified long-time members.
Based on the actuarial study of Owwa, the rebate program will include 556,000 beneficiaries who were covered by the first cut-off of the program in December 2017.
It allocated another P2 billion for the second batch.
The beneficiaries of the program will get P941.25 up to P13,177.50 depending on their year of contribution.
Owwa Administrator Hans J. Cacdac said they will start the implementation of the program by next month.
“The opening of the online portal to set an appointment for the rebate processing is on September 1,” Cacdac said.
The rebate program is based on the provision of Republic Act 10801 or the Owwa Act.
It covers those who have become Owwa members for at least 10 years and have not availed themselves of any benefit from the agency.
