The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Wednesday there are enough workers for the administration’s “Build, Build, Build” projects.
“To say there is a shortage, that is not correct,” Transportation Secretary Tugade told BusinessMirror during the sidelines of the Seafarers Family International Congress at the Manila Hotel.
Last month, DOTr said it started 30 to 35 percent of its planned big ticket projects under the “Build, Build, Build” program.
It is currently working on the following railway projects: PNR Clark Phase 1, LRT-1 Cavite Extension, Metro Manila Subway, MRT 7, and LRT-2 East Extension.
Tugade, however, noted they may still need additional workers once they start with their other construction projects.
He said they are coordinating with the Technical Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for their forthcoming labor requirements.
