PINOY Big Brother: Otso Ultim8 Big Winner William “Yamyam” Gucong only hoped to provide for his family who lived in a typhoon-worn house in Bohol. Kiara Takahashi, the season’s Second Big Placer, on the other hand, dreamt of having a home she and her mom can call their own. Now, both these housemates wear dream-come-true smiles.
Yamyam, the courageous “Iskulit Bai ng Bohol” and Kiara, the charming “Singing Surfer ng La-Union” both won condominium units in Asmara, a premier condominium development of real estate developer Suntrust Properties, Inc. during the Big Night, the grand coronation event of the longest ABS-CBN reality television series, Pinoy Big Brother.
Suntrust Properties, Inc. a wholly-owned subsidiary of property giant Megaworld Corp., is The Official Home of Pinoy Big Brother Otso. This partnership was sealed during a contract signing in November 2018 inside the PBB House.
Suntrust President Atty. Harry Paltongan said that ABS-CBN shares their vision for the Suntrust market and Filipino families everywhere. “We carry the same advocacy, which is particularly translating dreams into reality.”
The company believes that the challenges inside the PBB house that test the determination of the housemates is a good representation of how Filipinos struggle to provide for the needs of their families. Much like the PBB house, the company’s projects also aim to become places that value the essence of friendship and family.
“At Suntrust, we believe that every Filipino deserves a home,” said Paltongan.
The condominium units in Asmara that Kiara and Yamyam received sits on a prime location along E. Rodriguez Avenue and boasts of three low-density condominium towers with modern contemporary designs. With its strategic location, it is perfect for providing a balanced work-life-play-learn lifestyle fit for the PBB winners.
“[Yamyam] always sought for something better. Never letting himself be pulled back by difficulties – but being pushed forward by his aspirations. His poverty was Yamyam’s springboard to reach this far” said Paltongan, who himself presented the symbolic Suntrust keys to Yamyam and Kiara during the awards night.
“Maraming maraming salamat po… Napatunayan ko, sa aking sarili na kahit sa kahirapan, kaya nating bumangon sa buhay,” Gucong said after being named the winner.
An emotional Kiara also imparted an important lesson she learned inside the PBB house: “Kahit anong mangyari, kung pamilya mo ang inspirasyon mo, kung hindi ka susuko sa anumang hamon na ibigay sayo hindi lang ni Kuya kundi pati ng buhay, huwag kang susuko.”
Apart from the Asmara units awarded to Yamyam and Kiara, Suntrust recently surprised television viewers in a heart-warming airing of PBB Batch-Bakan challenge when it awarded Yen Quirante, the “Palangiteen Dreamer ng Camarines Sur,” another condominium unit, the biggest prize a housemate ever received before the Big Night.
“Meron na po kaming matitirahan, may matitirahan na po ‘yung mama ko po, Kuya, ‘yung tatlo ko pong kapatid tsaka ako po Kuya,” Yen uttered in gratitude in one of the show’s episodes.
“I am amazed at how the PBB house came to be and at how they [reached] thousands of people…how they were able to teach them how to dream,” said Paltongan.
Yamyam, Kiara and Yen all placed their hopes and dreams in coming into the Big Brother House, now their dreams will continue in their new homes in Suntrust Asmara.
